ACTRESS/WRITER/DIRECTOR/PRODUCER
A very charismatic and natural leader from her childhood, Omoni Oboli, who is fluent in both English and French languages, at various times during her secondary school (i.e. high school) days from 1989-1994, held various positions of responsibility including the positions of Head Girl, President of both the Literary & Debating Society and French Club and also Editor of the Press Club. Omoni studied Foreign Languages (majoring in French) at the University of Benin, Nigeria between 1995 and 1999, graduating with honours (2nd Class Upper division).
Owing to her passion to make a change, Omoni Oboli has set up a charity organisation, Omoni Oboli Foundation, www.omoniobolifoundation.com, to use her celebrity status to bring well needed relief to the plight of the less privileged women and children in the society. The foundation has been able to embark on several projects.
Omoni Oboli, who is also a New York Film Academy (NYFA) trained filmmaker, has received various awards and nominations as a producer and also as best actress in leading and supporting roles at different award ceremonies both locally and internationally. She grossed the most at the Nigerian cinema box office in 2010, owing to the success of both “The Figurine’ and ‘Anchor Baby’.
